WHO: A loosely organized
group of people that have come together to offer support to those
living in the 37882 Zip code and surrounding communities.
Education and training will be offered free of charge or at a
very low cost with the intentions of providing quality
education and instruction while maintaining a monetary zero balance for the
support group.
WHAT: Expect classroom environments with instruction on American
Sign Language (ASL), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First
Aid, Photography and much more.
Outdoor learning will include Bird Watching, Tree
Identification, Star Gazing, Gardening and just about anything
else if we have a need for the knowledge.
Do you have a skill that you are willing to share? Got a green
thumb and are willing to give us a tour of your garden while
pointing out your trade secrets to success? How about Canning
the way your Mother taught you.....and her Mother taught her?
Her legacy can continue through you and your willing to teach us
how to Can.
WHERE: Anyplace that will allow us to come forward and learn.
The Townsend City building has a great meeting facility that we
hope to use often. The Great Smoky Mountain National Park can't
be beat for outdoor classes.
WHEN: Events will be posted well in
advance on this website and the
Townsend Tennessee Community Support Group Facebook page.
Check for updates on a regular basis.
WHY: What makes a teacher is something hard to understand. It is
a commitment to others that all knowledge should be shared. A
passion to offer people an opportunity to become a better person
through knowledge. The great thing is that you don't have to
hold a diploma to teach. We think that simply by knowing stuff,
you should be able to share it with others. If you agree then we
are on the same page.
